- The town of West Hartford canceled its traditional Memorial Day Parade on Sunday afternoon because of expected rain on Monday morning. Town officials confirmed that the parade, typically held on Memorial Day morning, does not have a designated rain date and is automatically canceled in case of unfavorable weather.

- Retired Marine Corps Capt. Conor Tracy, a West Hartford native, will be the grand marshal and keynote speaker. Tracy graduated from Conard High School in 1996 and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Marine Corps in 2000 after attending Colgate University.
- His military service included a deployment to Kuwait and Iraq in 2003 during Operation Iraqi Freedom as part of Task Force Tarawa. Tracy later served as an instructor before leaving the Marine Corps in 2006 with the rank of captain.
- After his military career, Tracy earned an MBA from the University of Connecticut and joined United Technologies. He currently holds the position of vice president and general manager at Pratt & Whitney’s Hot Section Module Center in East Hartford. Tracy and his wife, Elizabeth, returned to West Hartford in 2006 and are raising their three children there.
